Tymko Boichuk

1896 - 1922

Ukrainian artist who worked in monumental art, easel painting, and book graphics. Tymko is the younger brother and follower of Mykhailo Boichuk, the founder of Boichukism — an art school and modernist movement that encompassed various artistic fields and aimed to integrate art into everyday life. Boichukists, starting from the 1910s, created a new Ukrainian style, synthesizing modern art with the achievements of Byzantium, Kyivan Rus, and Ukrainian folk art.
