First, there were puzzles
UA Vibe is a continuation of Ukrainian Puzzles – created by the same team and with the same mission to tell about Ukrainian culture through meaningful things. We were often told: "How beautiful! But we don't really like doing puzzles. Is there anything else with these images?". These requests prompted us to create UA Vibe – a platform where Ukrainian culture comes to life in various mediums.
We are constantly working on expanding both the selection of artworks and the range of products on which they are displayed. We work so that here "every heart finds love and warmth, every throat finds its taste," to quote Hryhorii Skovoroda.
In our catalog, you will find something for yourself and as a gift, for adults and children, for home, educational, public, business, and other spaces, for museum shops and ordinary retailers, for Ukrainians and foreigners, for everyday and for special occasions. In short, for everyone and for any event.
Inspiration from the Boichukists
In our work, we are inspired by the Boichukists' idea of art in everyday things. Mykhailo Boichuk told his students within the walls of St. Michael's Monastery in Kyiv:
“Art should be an expression of the spiritual quality of both the artist and the nation to which he belongs, but for this, it must be embodied in all forms of life, satisfying everyday needs. Not only buildings from the outside and inside, but also all the trifles of everyday life, everything must be aesthetically pleasing to the human eye.
For example, furniture (he pointed to the clumsy furniture in the room), should it really be like this? It is uncomfortable and terribly ugly from an artistic point of view. And let's take children's toys, home decorations, clothes, printed products, and everything else. All these things are equally important for all segments of the population, because they instill artistic taste, adorn and ennoble life. Therefore, they should be designed by the best artists, connoisseurs of both art and material.”
Mykhailo Boichuk taught this even when things could be made either individually or by mass production of identical utilitarian objects. Now, with the phenomenon of mass customization and other new technologies, a whole range of additional opportunities arises to bring this idea to life.
We have our own production in Lutsk and use modern equipment with numerical programmed control, ecological UV printing directly on wood, glass, or other materials, and a number of additional technologies so that Ukrainian art is not only in museums and galleries but becomes an organic part of everyday space.
Copyright and Collaborations
Strict adherence to copyright is a fundamental principle of our work. The use of images of works that are not in the public domain occurs on the basis of license agreements with artists, their heirs, or other copyright holders.
Thus, for the creation of our art puzzles, we are already fruitfully cooperating with a number of institutions and copyright holders, including the Alla Horska and Viktor Zaretsky Foundation, the Maria Prymachenko Family Foundation, Mystetskyi Arsenal, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, ZAG Gallery, Fedosenko Art, Yuriy Zhuravel, and many others.
We strive for even wider collaboration with cultural institutions and authors to create new product lines for UA Vibe. For collaborations, please write to us at pryvit@uavibe.com.
At the same time, we care about protecting our own developments. UA Vibe owns a number of intellectual property rights, including those protected by industrial design, such as the design of art lamps. Copying our designs and developments is prohibited and will result in legal action in case of violation.
Our Contribution to the Resilience of Ukrainian Culture and Freedom
To create art puzzles and other meaningful products, we delved into the study of Ukrainian culture. And although, having grasped the full depth and unexplored nature of the subject, we realized that we are still at the initial stage of this process, we have already felt what a source of strength lies within it.
Russia obsessively tries to destroy Ukrainian culture both because it is Ukrainian and because it carries the code of freedom, dignity, resilience, and ennoblement of man. This is a fundamental antagonism to Russian culture, which programs the insignificance of man, his submission to the superior in the vertical of the social hierarchy, the rejection of freedom and dignity in exchange for a mandate of humiliation and arbitrariness towards the inferior. This antagonism can be seen even within the work of one artist – Ilya Repin, who depicted Ukrainian and Russian themes.
By revealing Ukrainian culture to ourselves and the world through the mediums presented on this website, we contribute to the preservation of our heritage and the memory of what has been destroyed. And thus – to the ability of the democratic world to withstand the threat of totalitarianism and enslavement by those who seek a world without freedom.
We deliver our art products to all countries of the world, except for the four inglorious ones. Create for yourselves, give as gifts, and tell others. Let's spread the code of freedom and resilience together.
